Our story

Pride, woven in.

Oratile — a Setswana name celebrating pride and prosperity — began at a single sewing machine in Braamfontein. Founder Oratile Segalo returned from studying design in Milan with one conviction: African luxury should be designed here, cut here, and worn everywhere.

Today our atelier pairs Xhosa beadwork traditions with Milanese tailoring, and every collection is cut from fabrics milled across South Africa, Lesotho and Ghana. We pay above-market wages, train young artisans through our studio programme, and keep production deliberately small — because heritage cannot be hurried.
